2025 Military Tribute Banners in Occoquan

Each year the VFW Post 7916 and Town of Occoquan honor U.S. military veterans with patriotic banners sponsored by family and friends. These banners are a testament to the veteran’s service to their nation, state, and local community and will be displayed in the historic district of Occoquan from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. 

Beginning in 2025, the Town and VFW Post are increasing the number of banner locations from 30 to 40 by using utility poles that have the capability of displaying two banners in lieu of a single banner.

Any surplus funds are used to support VFW operations and to make donations to charitable organizations that support veterans. Once the display period ends Sponsors will have the option of keeping the banner as a memento or storing it with the VFW until next season.
